This will be an informal group meet to photograph locations in and around Eskdale and Wasdale. Some are well known , some not so well known. Planned locations include Devoke Water, (and boathouse) Stanley Ghyll waterfall and Wasdale. There are iconic views towards Wasdale Head, including the lesser known boathouse.

Maximum participants : 12

There will be an opportunity to use the cafe facilities at Dalegarth Station (the end station of the Ravenglass ‘ratty’ narrow gauge railway).

Clothing and equipment

Outdoor clothing including warm layers and waterproofs. Walking boots and or Wellingtons.

Challenges and accessibility

There are uneven paths, in the morning the path to Stanley Ghyll is steep in places to get to the waterfall. There are opportunities during the day for people who have limited mobility. This trip is not recommended for people who are wheel chair users.

Toilet facilities

The trip will be in the ‘outdoors’ most of the day with the limited toilet facilities that normally entails. There are public toilet facilities in the cafe at lunchtime.

Other costs

There are no parking charges for any of the car parks we will be using. The cafe car park does have charges but the cafe is only a 10 minute walk for the Stanley Ghyll car park, which is free.
